Behind the Brand - Who Are We?

Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here to Lemon Lane Interiors. My name is Samantha, and I’m the Principal Designer and owner of this boutique design firm, where we strive to ensure every project is personal, intentional, and full of life.

Lemon Lane Interiors is a dream I’ve been nurturing for a long time. I started the company in 2021 after some time honing my craft at a renowned residential design firm, and before that, in  hospitality design for a popular Canadian restaurant franchise. While both roles were incredibly enriching, they made me realize that the one thing I wanted most was to run my own firm—where I could bring my creative visions to life and guide clients through the journey of creating spaces that truly feel like home.

Creating Environments Where People Feel Something Special

For me, Interior Design isn’t just about filling a space with beautiful things. It’s about creating environments where people feel something special. I love the process of getting to know my clients, learning about their stories, their quirks, and what makes them feel truly at ease. From there, I weave those little details into a design that not only reflects their unique personality but enhances their lifestyle. No two spaces are the same, and that’s exactly what I love about this work. It’s always a fresh, exciting challenge.

How It All Started...

I’ve been drawn to design for as long as I can remember. Growing up in an old English-style brick house with loads of character and charm, I developed an early love for the spaces around me. That house had a soul, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to help people create that same feeling in their own homes. For me, it's the character that gives a home heart.

My educational journey took me from the University of Victoria, where I earned a degree in Art History, to BCIT for my Interior Design degree. I also spent some time studying in Norwich, UK, and Ferrara, Italy, where I soaked up design inspiration over a spritz or two (the Italian culture had me hooked). My travels and studies shaped my approach to design—drawing from history, art, and a bit of Mediterranean sunshine.

What's With The Lemons?

Speaking of which, you might be wondering where the name Lemon Lane comes from. Well, it’s a little nod to my love of Italian culture. The lemon, with its sunny yellow color, is a symbol of warmth, vitality, and the Mediterranean lifestyle—the blue skies, sparkling waters, and the laid-back way of living is the epitome of La Dolce Vita. That’s the energy I strive to bring to every project I work on. I want you to walk into a room I’ve designed and feel the light, the warmth, the energy.

At the heart of it all, what sets me apart is my ability to listen—to really hear what my clients want, and to translate that into spaces that speak to their individual needs. It’s about more than just a pretty room; it’s about creating something that fits the rhythm of your life. And I love preserving and highlighting the charm of homes, making sure that whether they’re new or old, each one tells its own unique story.

When I’m not designing, you can find me walking in the trails with my husband and extremely handsome black lab, Watson, or spending time with my young daughter, Avery - reminding me daily the importance of creating spaces that inspire.
